Depending on volcanic activity and the wind direction, the guide will bring you to the border of the craters to catch a breathtaking view down. After the tour of the top area we start the descent in an ash and sand rim with views down to the last lava flows of the recent years.

We stop for several visits of lava tunnels, amazing lava formations and a panoramic point with overview of the old caldera “Valle del Bove”. The tour ends at the cable car station on 2.500m where we can take the drive down to the departure point after 4 hours hiking time. Otherwise we can decide to hike down following the rim of the Valle del Bove caldera to the departure point on 1.900m, where we arrive after a total of 5-6 hours hiking time.

With a minimum of 6 participants the price of this tour covers cable car/4wd and the authorized guide for the full day, for a total of 85 euro per person.

Close to the cable car departure point you can find rentals for equipment. Please bring your own sport socks along!

The short time lapse that allows to arrive from 0 to 3.000m may cause dizziness and respiratory problems, and due to this fact we consider this trek not appropriate for people with cardio-respiratory problems.
